In 2018, Heronet Cyber started as a product of friends and family with a simple goal: to provide quality and reliable cyber café services to the people of Butula and its surrounding areas.
At the time, the idea was straightforward. We wanted to create a place where people could access computers, print and photocopy documents, and get assistance with the growing number of services moving online.
We were not starting out with the ambition of becoming a software development company.
We were simply trying to build a good cyber café.
But sometimes, the direction of a business is shaped by the problems you encounter along the way.
And that is exactly what happened to us.

Some people needed assistance understanding the application process. Others struggled with uploading documents, navigating unfamiliar websites or dealing with technical problems.
Our cyber café became more than a place where people could access computers.
It became a place where people could get help using technology.
And this daily interaction with customers exposed us to something that would eventually change the direction of our business.
We Started Noticing a Problem
As we interacted with different websites and online platforms, we began noticing that they were not all created equal.
Some websites loaded quickly and provided a smooth experience.

As our skills, ambitions and range of services expanded, it became clear that the traditional identity of a cyber café no longer fully represented what we were becoming.
The name Heronet Cyber Technologies reflects this broader direction.
The cyber café remains an important part of our business and our story.
But it is no longer the whole story.
Today, the cyber café serves as the environment from which our technology journey emerged, while Heronet Cyber Technologies is expanding into software development, cybersecurity, digital solutions and technology services.
More Than a Cyber
Our journey from a cyber café to a technology company did not happen overnight.
It has been a gradual process of learning, experimenting, identifying problems and building solutions.
We started by helping people print documents and access online services.
Then we became curious about the technology behind those services.
That curiosity led us into software development.
Software development opened the door to building our own solutions.
